SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMME

Active Participation

The scientific programme of the meeting, will consist of a number of thematic programme blocks. Each of these thematic programme blocks will include a series of invitational lectures given by invited expert speakers. Each thematic programme block will be followed by a discussion on the presented lectures.

The oral presentation of the invitational lectures given by invited expert speakers must correspond with the time limit set by the meeting programme schedule. Each discussion on the presented lectures will be assigned 15 minutes of time within the respective thematic programme block.

Active presentations outside the frame of the invitational lectures are only possible within the separate poster section.

Deadline for submission of the application for the active and poster presentation, including abstracts, is 30th June 2008.

The application for active and poster presentation, including abstracts, is to be submitted through the form Application for Active Participation.

Poster Presentations

Active presentations outside the frame of the invitational lectures are only possible within the separate poster section. The applicants for poster presentation are obliged to submit their application form, including abstracts, through the form Application for active Participation by 30th June 2008.

The following conditions apply to poster presentations in the poster section of the meeting. The size of the workspace for placing the posters at the site of the meeting: 180 cm (height) and 98 cm (width), bottom material: white lamino, installation with Velcro fastener – provided by the meeting organizer. Poster presentations will be labelled with sequence numbers in accordance with the poster overview in the scientific programme.

Publication of the Scientific Programme

Final draft of the scientific programme of the meeting will be published on this page by 31st July 2008.

Abstracts

If you are an invited speaker or in case you plan to submit a poster for the poster section of the meeting, please use the appropriate on-line Application for Active Participation form. For the participation in the poster section, other than on-line applications will not be accepted.

The deadline for the submission of the abstracts and of applications for the poster section is 30th June 2008.

The abstract must not exceed 2000 characters. The abstracts of the accepted presentations will be collected in the book of abstracts of the meeting, which will be given to every registered participant upon their accreditation in the Registration Centre of the meeting.

The abstracts will be also published in the periodical “Česká a slovenská gastroenterologie a hepatologie”.

Guidelines for submission of abstracts

  1. Abstract title: must be in upper case letters in bold
  2. Author or author’s names: initial(s) of first name(s), family name- in upper case
  3. Author’s institution: hospital, city - in lower case
  4. Paragraph headings should be set out on separate lines and in bold text
  5. Do not include tables, graphics, or charts. If necessary you can send them in email attachment. The attachment must be formatted as Microsoft Word document format. Only one attachment will be accepted.

Technical Equipment

Format of Presentations – Audiovisual Equipment

In general, PC presentations only will be accepted. Presentations are acceptable only in the format Microsoft Powerpoint (.ppt, version 95,97,2000,XP,2003), in which the video sequences (.avi (also DivX version) and .mpeg) may be incorporated. Video sequences may be put on individually. Files in the format . mov (quicktime) must be exported into the format .avi. Images must be in one of the following formats: .jpg, .gif, .tif, or .bmp (the format .pict is not acceptable). Also acceptable are Flash presentations and animations, set for full screen view. The presentations are to be submitted either on CD/DVD or USB keys. Presentations on other than the recommended media will not be accepted. Further possible will be presentations using overhead projection and VHS video- projection.

In case of any specific requirements for your presentation regarding technical / audiovisual equipment etc., please contact the office of Congress Prague on time well before the meeting. Requirements brought up as late as in the course of the meeting will not be satisfied.

Preview Point

The Preview Point will be directly located in the Congress Hall - Conference Room Prague, Diplomat Hotel Prague, and will be clearly marked. It will be equipped for slide and computer projections.
