Banking

The official currency in the Czech Republic is the Czech Crown (abbr. CZK, also Kč in Czech). For current exchange rates please visit www.cnb.cz (the information is provided by the Czech National Bank, the central bank of the Czech Republic). Banks are usually open Monday – Friday, 9.00–17.00. On Saturdays and Sundays, money can be exchanged at the airport, at exchange points located in the city, and in hotels.

Credit Cards and Traveller’s Cheques

Credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard, Diners Club and American Express are widely accepted in hotels, department stores, shops, restaurants, etc. Traveller’s cheques are not widely accepted in the Czech Republic. Stores and restaurants will generally not accept them.

Electricity

Electricity supply in the Czech Republic is 220 V – 50 Hz, AC.

Insurance

The organising institute or the professional organiser of the meeting will not be responsible for any losses, damages, health injuries and problems, damage to personal property, or other contingencies, which may afflict the participant during his / her journey or his / her stay in Prague. Therefore, we recommend that you arrange for yourselves personal and travel insurance for your journey and stay in the Czech Republic, which would eliminate possible consequences of such unpleasant contingencies.

Invitation letter

Should you need an invitation in order to obtain an entry visa to the Czech Republic, Congress Prague, the professional organiser of the 11th Central European Congress of Rheumatology, will send you an invitation letter upon request. You are kindly asked to e-mail your request to the conference secretariat (office(at)congressprague.cz) well in advance. Requests for invitation letters must be sent not later than 25 November 2016. Requests received after this date will not be accepted. NB. Invitation letter can be requested only by persons already registered for the 11th Central European Congress of Rheumatology whose registration and other applicable fees have been received by the organizer.
NB. Invitation letters are issued solely for individuals and e-mailed (pdf) to the participants only.

Language

The official language of the Conference is English.

Transfer services

We would like to offer you the possibility to book a transport from the Václav Havel Airport Prague or Prague Main Railway Station to Clarion Congress Hotel and/ or the other way round. Please make your transfer service reservation upon your registration. For transfer arrangements, kindly fill in the Arrival - Departure Schedule in the on-line registration form.

NB. If you wish to make a van reservation please notice that you have to be a group of at least 4 persons.
For a minibus reservation there has to be a group of at least 8 persons travelling together.
For participants travelling alone or in a group of less than 3 persons the car fee applies. 

NB. Transfer service reservation is possible only for the conference participants accommodated in Clarion Congress Hotel Prague.

Registration

There will be an extra fee of € 30 added to the relevant registration fee for an on-site registration. Both an on-line registration (submitting of an on-line registration form after 26 November 2016) and registration in person are considered as on-site registrations.

TAX

There are three different VAT rates in the Czech Republic: 21% (vast majority of goods and services), 15% and 10%.

The salesmen are always obliged to issue you a receipt with price and an individually marked tax rate.

The organisers of the congress cannot be held responsible for changes in prices due to increase in government taxes.

Time

CET (Central European Time) = UTC+1:00 is used in the Czech Republic. Daylight Saving Time (summer time, UTC+2:00) is observed form last Sunday in March to last Sunday in October.

Travel to Prague

By Air
All international flights arrive at Václav Havel Airport Prague (PRG). Transfer services provided by the conference organizer will take you safely and comfortably to your hotel in Prague. By Train
International train connections arrive mostly at Prague Central Railway Station (in Czech: Praha Hlavní nádraží, abbr. Praha hl. n.).

NB. Attendees requiring an entry visa to the Czech Republic are strongly advised to submit their visa application well in advance before the start of the Conference (however, not earlier than 3 months before the planned travel to the Czech Republic).
